Not only is Wi-Fi 7 much more stable than Wi-Fi 6 thanks to a new 6 GHz band and Multi-Link Operation (MLO); capacity has also grown tremendously. Within Wi-Fi 7, there are thousands of options from various brands. Too many to mention! In this article, we delve deeper into our favorites from Omada.

BEST ENTRY-LEVEL: EAP723

Wi-Fi 7 isn't just for the biggest players on the market. With the EAP723, smaller organizations, such as retail stores and home offices, can also benefit from the various advantages of Wi-Fi 7. Compared to its siblings, the EAP723 does not support the 6 GHz band, focusing instead on maximum speeds on the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands. This entry-level model includes everything you need for standard office applications.

Looking for a Wi-Fi 7 AP for a medium-to-large organization, such as schools and restaurants? Then the EAP773 is one of the best options on the market. Compared to the EAP723, this model supports the 6 GHz band, significantly increasing available bandwidth and allowing for more simultaneous connections. The EAP773 is perfect for busier organizations with many Wi-Fi users.

The best Wi-Fi 7 AP in the Omada portfolio is the EAP787. This model supports maximum throughput on all GHz bands. On the 5 GHz band, we even see a doubling of performance compared to the EAP773. This feature makes the EAP787 extremely suitable for environments with extremely high bandwidth demands, such as shopping centers and campuses.

BEST OUTDOOR: EAP772-OUTDOOR

The EAP772-Outdoor is most similar to the EAP787, with the added value of an IP68-certified housing. This means it is water- and dustproof and can withstand temperatures between -40 °C and 70 °C. Every EAP772-Outdoor comes with a pole/wall mounting kit. If you have an outdoor environment where a Wi-Fi 7 connection is required, the EAP772 is your best choice.

THE NEW: EAP783 & EAP720

When we wrote this article one year ago, there were only 4 Wi-Fi 7 models from Omada, but 3 additional Access Points have since been added to the range—each with its own strengths. Take the EAP783, for example. This high-end model performs slightly less than the EAP787, but as a result, it is a little more affordable than its bigger brother. The EAP720 is a dual-band model, meaning that with this model you only have access to the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. Although that might sound counterintuitive, there are several reasons to specifically choose dual-band over tri-band. We even wrote an entire article about it.
