Home/Store/News/The Dutch Data Protection Authority (AP) is tightening supervision of IT suppliers: Is your network ready for NIS2 guidelines?

April 23, 2026 - The Dutch Data Protection Authority (AP) recently announced that it will significantly increase inspections on compliance with privacy and security guidelines among IT suppliers—a development closely tied to the approaching NIS2 legislation from the European Union. We have known this was coming for a long time, but now it is truly unavoidable. Fortunately, it is not too late yet.

At Alcadis, we notice that partners sometimes consider switching to other vendors due to these increased security requirements. That is unnecessary! All RUCKUS solutions—from Unleashed to full-fledged Enterprise networks with RUCKUS One (R1) or SmartZone —contain all the functionalities needed to make your network compliant with new legislation without requiring major investments.

Why RUCKUS is a perfect fit for NIS2 legislation

This is primarily thanks to Cloudpath. A crucial component of the new guidelines is that an organization must have control over who has access to what. In the recent Odido data breach, for example, we saw that criminals gained access to all customer data via individual customer service employees. RUCKUS Cloudpath facilitates a modern, secure approach to this rather than relying on static passwords:

  • Dynamic PSK: Unlike conventional shared passwords, every user or device with a Dynamic PSK receives a unique key. This significantly increases security because you can revoke access for one specific device without hindering others.
  • Certificates: Cloudpath installs digital certificates on devices, allowing users to connect securely and automatically without having to re-enter credentials repeatedly.
  • Posture Check: Before a device is granted access to the network, the system checks its security status. Does a device not meet the requirements? Think of cases where someone logs in from an unusual location or the device has not been used before. In such instances, access is automatically denied.
  • Role-based access: You can easily determine who is allowed to see which resources, which is essential for secure network segmentation.

Wi-Fi 7: No compromises between speed and security

Although other parties are also focusing strongly on security, they often lag behind in terms of wireless connectivity. RUCKUS Networks continues to lead in this area, which was recently confirmed by ABI Research, identifying them as one of the top players in the Enterprise WLAN market. RUCKUS proves that the highest speeds and the strictest security requirements can go hand in hand.

You don't have to do it alone
