Make your network management completely local with Teltonika's Site Manager

March 19, 2026 - Following the latest RutOS update (7.21), as an IT administrator, you now have the ability to manage your network entirely locally with Site Manager, allowing you to get more out of your network. What is RutOS?

RutOS is the operating system that runs on all Routers, Gateways, and Access Points from Teltonika Networks. The system makes it possible to manage your network more efficiently, configure devices, and keep connections secure. With RutOS, you can easily set up and monitor features such as VPN, IPv6, SIM-switching, and SNMP, making your network more reliable and flexible.

Site Manager: A new way to manage

Site Manager offers similar features to Teltonika RMS, but the biggest difference is that it runs directly on Routers, Gateways, and Access Points instead of in a cloud environment. Do you value local management? For example, for reasons of data sovereignty? Then it can be an excellent additional solution for your network. Another advantage of Site Manager is that it automatically detects new devices, reducing the need for manual configuration.

Please note: RutOS is not an alternative for everything within Teltonika RMS. Site Manager makes it possible to manage Teltonika products locally, but this feature pales in comparison to RMS Connect. With the latter, you can also manage devices connected to routers and gateways, such as a PLC, CCTV, or PC. Not to mention RMS VPN and RMS API... If you want to get the most out of your network, RMS remains the best solution.

In addition to Site Manager, the latest RutOS update brings even more improvements.

Pause data streams without loss of configuration → quickly adjust data collection without having to reconfigure everything.

Clearer mobile operators → country names are displayed; this is essential in border areas or when using multiple providers.

Extended SNMP capabilities → support for multiple trap hosts (servers that automatically receive status notifications) and additional device information in notifications, such as the system name, IP address, and serial number.

Improved log registration → more insight and control, which simplifies monitoring and troubleshooting.

IPv6 support → easier integration with modern networks and cloud services such as AWS, Azure, and MQTT.

In short, the latest RutOS update offers a whole range of improvements.
