OmniVista Terra: OmniVista Cirrus is now also available on-premise

July 16, 2025 - At the end of June, Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise (ALE) launched an on-premise version of their successful network management platform, OmniVista Cirrus. This unique solution, called OmniVista Terra, has been specially developed for organizations that place high value on local infrastructure management, data sovereignty, and advanced security requirements.

OmniVista Cirrus vs. OmniVista Terra

Much of what is possible with OmniVista Cirrus is also possible with OmniVista Terra. Both give IT administrators insight into the entire network and offer the option to manage access control. The biggest difference is that this insight with OmniVista Terra is limited to a single network, whereas OmniVista Cirrus allows you to manage networks across multiple locations.

Why should I choose OmniVista Terra?

The primary advantage of OmniVista Terra is that an on-premise solution is significantly more secure than one hosted in the cloud. While OV Cirrus features Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Mutual Cloud, and Device Authentication to ensure online security, nothing is as secure as a network that can only be managed on-site.

ALE advises hospitals and other healthcare centers, among others, to utilize on-premise solutions. After all, extra security is vital when it comes to protecting patient data. Organizations where Wi-Fi presence is mission-critical, such as factories, also benefit greatly from OV Terra, as it reduces the risk of network failure caused by cyberattacks.
