September 3, 2026 - Nokia and RUCKUS shared in a recent webinar exactly what the integration of Optical LAN into RUCKUS's Wi-Fi 7 portfolio will look like. For now, this solution is only available in early access for a select group of customers in North America and Asia (and Nokia distributors such as Alcadis), but it will go live for everyone later this year. One display, dozens of solutions

Perhaps the most important aspect of this collaboration is that all RUCKUS and Nokia solutions can be managed within RUCKUS's management platform, RUCKUS One. From RUCKUS's Wi-Fi 7 Access Points to Nokia's MF-2 Optical Switch and Optical Modems. Not only does this mean that it is much easier for users to offer and install LAN and WLAN as a single solution—think of buildings under construction—but you also have far more flexibility in deciding what to deploy and when, thanks to the choice between two portfolios.

Dozens of combinations are possible. Think of deploying an OLT as an Access Point or adding Aggregation Switches to the network for extra features. Far too many to list. Let us know what your situation looks like, and we will gladly help you think through the best solution.

RUCKUS One: Next level AI

Much more is possible on RUCKUS One than just managing and configuring RUCKUS Access Points and Switches as well as Nokia Modems and Switches. RUCKUS has invested heavily in AI over recent years, and it has paid off. We previously wrote that RUCKUS is one of the few parties offering Agentic AI. This means AI not only analyzes the network, but can also propose solutions for network issues and resolve things automatically.

Get started

For now, this solution from RUCKUS and Nokia is only available in early access for customers in select countries. The Netherlands is not (yet) part of this group. What is possible, however, is starting with Nokia and adding RUCKUS Wi-Fi 7 Access Points later. This is a logical order, as you need to have the infrastructure in order first to get the maximum out of the Access Points.
