August 27, 2026 - At the end of July 2025, Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise (ALE) announced OmniVista Terra: an on-premises network management system positioned as the local variant of the cloud-based OmniVista Cirrus. With OmniVista 2500 (OVC 2500) reaching End of Sale (EoS) as of December 31, 2026, ALE presents Terra as the successor for customers who wish to continue working on-premises. What is OmniVista Terra?

OmniVista Terra gives you overview and control over your entire network: from wireless Stellar Access Points to wired AOS Switches. Everything comes together under one central management platform.

Together with OmniVista Cirrus, Terra forms the new OmniVista suite. Both platforms offer the same advanced functionality, but in the environment that best fits your organization: fully in the cloud with Cirrus, or fully on-premises with Terra. Already working with Cirrus? Then this is a familiar way of working that now becomes available locally as well.

Smarter Management Thanks to AI

With the AI chatbot interface, you can ask questions about your network in plain language. For example, want to quickly know which devices are offline or what a specific configuration looks like? You'll receive a direct answer or step-by-step plan. That saves time during daily tasks and lowers the barrier for colleagues with less technical experience behind the network.

Terra is also connected to OmniVista Network Advisor, ALE's AIOps tool. This combination helps your IT team pinpoint the root cause of network issues faster and resolve incidents more efficiently, rather than spending hours searching for where the problem actually lies. Furthermore, comprehensive analytics provide real-time insights into performance, user behavior, and device status, complete with historical data to identify trends and recurring issues.
