August 5, 2026 – Looking to quickly set up a network while keeping tight control over management? Since the arrival of Omada Fusion by Omada, that process has already been significantly simplified. Because our website has previously covered the general make-up of the solution and benefits of the Omada Fusion 2.5G Gateway in greater depth, this article highlights the latest additions: the Fusion G+ and the Fusion 2.5G PoE.
What are the differences compared to the previously introduced Fusion 2.5G, and which model best suits your specific project? We have outlined the various scenarios for you.
Before looking at the differences, it is worth noting what these models have in common. Each of these 3 devices combines a powerful gateway with a built-in hardware controller (comparable to the functionality of a standalone OC200, now that the older OC220 is no longer available) in a single compact housing that you can place on a desk or mount on the wall.
Additionally, the Fusion line serves as the ideal, future-proof alternative to the popular ER7212PC, which is also no longer available.
You manage the equipment (up to a maximum of 30 Omada devices and about 300 clients per gateway) via the same Omada Cloud Portal or App, entirely without license fees. You also do not compromise on software features: functions such as IDS/IPS, content filtering, QoS, advanced VPN protocols, and SD-WAN are standard on every model.
| Feature | Fusion G+ | Fusion 2.5G | Fusion 2.5G PoE |
| Interface | 1x 2.5G WAN port, 4x Gigabit LAN/WAN ports | 1x 2.5G WAN port, 4x 2.5G LAN/WAN ports | 1x 2.5G WAN port, 8x 2.5G LAN/WAN ports with PoE+ |
| Concurrent WAN ports | Maximum 4 | Maximum 4 | Maximum 8 |
| PoE | No | No | 8x PoE+, 110 watts total |
| Power Supply | USB-C adapter, 100-240V AC, 5V/3A output | USB-C adapter, 100-240V AC, 5V/3A output | 54V DC / 2.43A adapter |
| Dimensions | 130 x 95 x 30 mm | 160 x 130 x 31.5 mm | 226 x 135 x 31.5 mm |
| Touchscreen | 2.51 inch | 2.51 inch | 3.69 inch |
| Cooling | Fanless | Fanless | Fan with fanless mode |
The biggest advantage is that hardware costs are significantly reduced through the Fusion line. Because the gateway and the built-in controller (comparable to the trusted OC200) come together in a single device, you simply need fewer separate devices. This immediately reduces hardware purchase costs, while also saving on cabling and power outlets.
Additionally, Fusion saves you time during installation: you power on the device via Bluetooth, after which other Omada devices are automatically discovered and connected all at once. And thanks to the lack of license fees for cloud management, it is also an extremely cost-effective solution.
